Denver, 7, August In the world of fiction, there are such books that completely change your perspective every so often. They make you self-reflect, lingering even after the last turn of the page. These stories are what we would consider larger-than-life.

Author Jennifer Davis Deckert presents the story of a soul journeying throughout many lifetimes, accompanied by a cynical fairy named Jaja. In The Book of Laural, the protagonists, Laural and Jaja, search the far ends of the earth, even the cosmos, for perfect music. In their transcendent travels, they meet with other soul mates and endure many adventures. The book has struck a chord among audiences, especially those who have experienced losing a loved one in their lives. The read helps you find solace, knowing there is more than oblivion at the end. Those soulmates are waiting for you to connect. And that there is adventure even after the voyage has ended.

The book is a manifestation of Jennifer's expedition through grief after the unexpected death of her beloved sister, Laural, in December of 2021. In search of peace, Jennifer resorted to the pen, writing away to help her cope, as did her grieving mother. Laural and Jennifer were very close growing up, as the author's sister helped her through her speech disability.

Jennifer wished to become a rockstar, which was influenced by Laural's musical talent and resulted in the formation of a band called Hydroplane. Even though they never made it big in the field of music, their story lives on, with each note and tune serenading through the pages of the book.

Laural's energy lives on through Jennifer's stories. The Book of Laural is available on Amazon.
