Top business schools are scrambling to help MBA students through the pandemic. Here's our constantly updated list of program changes, deferred enrollments, and which schools are offering online classes.

Schools around the world have closed their campuses amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, switching students to online courses and relaxing application requirements as current and prospective learners alike adapt to the age of social distancing.
Half of universities worldwide are running virtual classes in the wake of the outbreak, according to a survey conducted by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), and about a fifth were pushing back fall start dates. Around 17% had changed application deadlines, accommodating for people looking to apply whose plans were derailed by the virus' impact.
And for MBA seekers, part of this delay was necessitated by the cancellation of in-person GMAT and GRE tests — which, as of April 20, will be available online.
Here are what the top 20 business schools in the world as ranked by QS are doing to update their admissions, teaching, and enrollment standards during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Duke (Fuqua)



Location: Durham, NC
Tuition: Over $120K
COVID-19 updates:
  • There is an additional Round 4 application due May 19, 2020.
  • Interviews will be conducted virtually.
  • The school will accept either online GMAT or GRE test scores.
  • The start date for the daytime MBA has been pushed to September 3, 2o2o, with orientation starting August 31.
  • Fuqua is prepared to start virtually.

Imperial College London



Location: London, UK
Tuition and fees: $60K to $70K
COVID-19 update:
  • Interviews will be conducted virtually.
  • The application process, as usual, is entirely online and deadlines are unchanged
  • If you meet their  standard academic requirements, you don't need to include a GMAT or GRE score in your application, but you must take and submit it at a later date. 
  • Online GMAT and GRE scores will be accepted.
  • Round 5 applications are due May 1, 2020; round 6 applications are due June 19, 2020.
  • All current programs are remote; programs are set to start as scheduled in the fall.

Michigan (Ross)



Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Tuition: Over $120K
COVID-19 updates:
  • Round 3 deadlines for the full-time MBA are extended to May 29.
  • Online MBA deadlines are extended to June 15.
  • Online GMAT/GRE scores will be accepted for the full-time MBA.
  • Limited GMAT/GRE waivers are available for online MBA candidates applying to start in the fall.
  • Courses are being taught remotely; in-person events have been canceled or moved.

Yale



Location: New Haven, CT
Tuition: Over $120K
COVID-19 updates:
  • There is an additional extended Round 3 deadline of May 27.
  • Round 3 applicants who submitted by the normal April 14 deadline had until April 24 to submit a GMAT or GRE test score.
  • All courses are being taught online; in-person events have been canceled through June 27.

ESADE



Location: Barcelona, Spain
Tuition and fees: $70K to $80K
COVID-19 updates:
  • Applications will all be rolling admission, and the school will accept applications within a reasonable time frame (i.e., a few days) after deadlines.
  • The program will accept applications received after the final deadline — May 19 for all students and June 2 for EU residents — and offer remaining spots.
  • The application, as usual, is all online, and you do not have to submit a standardized test score, so long as you list the date you expect to take the test.
  • Courses are currently online; scheduled on-campus events with more than 150 participants were cancelled.

Location: Cambridge, UK

  • Application dates remain unchanged.
  • Applicants who meet all other requirements may submit their applications without a GMAT or GRE score, but the offer is conditional on submitting a successful GMAT/GRE score at a later date.
  • Courses are being taught online; in-person events have been postponed.

IE Business School



Location: Madrid, Spain
Tuition and fees: $80K to $90K
COVID-19 updates:
  • The application deadlines and process, which was already 100% online, is unchanged.
  • Courses are being taught online; in-person events have been canceled or postponed.

UCLA (Anderson)



Location: Los Angeles, CA
Tuition: Over $120K
COVID-19 updates:
  • The Round 3 application deadline is extended from April 16 to June 1.
  • GRE/GMAT test scores will be accepted through July 1.
  • If you do not have a test score, you can put June 1, 2020, as the test date on your application; send the official test score online when available.
  • Courses are being taught online through at least the first summer session; in-person events have been canceled or postponed.

IESE Business School



Location: Barcelona, Spain
Tuition and fees: $90K to $100K
COVID-19 updates:
  • The director of admissions indicated that deadlines would be delayed in an email to students. However, no further actions have been clarified. 
  • The same email said applications would be accepted without GMAT/GRE scores for the time being.
  • Round 4 applications are still being accepted through May 5.
  • All interviews will be virtual.
  • Courses are conducted online for the time being; in-person events have been suspended.

Columbia



Location: New York, NY
Tuition and fees: Over $120
COVID-19 updates:
  • The last round of application deadlines was moved to June 1, 2020.
  • Applicants may submit without a GMAT, GRE, or Executive Assessment test score, but admission is contingent on submitting one at a later date.
  • Courses are being taught online for the time being; in-person events have been canceled in compliance with New York and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations.

Northwestern (Kellogg)



Location: Evanston, IL
Tuition and fees: $70K to $80K
COVID-19 updates:
  • Rolling applications will be accepted through June 1 for Round 3 admissions.
  • GMAT/ GRE/ TOEFL/ IELTS scores for this round are waived. However, you may submit either an online or in-person score if you think it enhances your application.
  • Depending on your location, your interview could be virtual.
  • Courses are being taught online.
  • Start date for this year has been delayed to July 20, 2020, with orientation starting July 15.

  • The 2+2 application deadline, however, has been changed to June 1, 2020.

MIT (Sloan)



Location: Cambridge, MA
Tuition: Over $120K
COVID-19 updates:
  • There is an extended Round 3 deadline that will accept applications up until June 15, 2020, on a rolling basis. 
  • Either the online GMAT or GRE will be accepted.
  • If an applicant is unable to take the test prior to submitting, they should leave that box unchecked; admission will be conditional on submitting an acceptable score later.
  • Courses are being taught online; in-person events have been canceled for the foreseeable future.

INSEAD



Location: Fontainebleau, France/Singapore
Tuition: $90K to $100K
COVID-19 updates:
  • If you missed the MBA Round 4 application deadline, use the January 2021 application form; the admissions team will let you know if a seat in the September 2020 intake is still available.
  • GMAT, GRE, EA, or TOEFL test scores are not required, but you may submit a score as soon as testing becomes available again.
  • GRE and TOEFL Test at Home can now be taken anywhere in the world, with some exceptions, and would suffice as a test score.
  • Interviews are entirely online.
  • Courses are being taught virtually.
